The mill announced Monday that it will open a showroom in the denim metropolis by the end of October, better positioning itself as a resource for European denim labels. The mill has a logistics center in Rotterdam, about an hour away by train.
Located in Amsterdam’s up-and-coming neighborhood of Houthaven, the showroom will be in close proximity of big denim names like Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein. Julie Eickelmann, Vichuna sales manager for Europe, will manage the new office.
“By increasing our presence here, we are optimizing our already high level of service for Europe, which will enable us to continue offering cost-effective, consistent quality. In combination with our office in Bangladesh, where we are seeing a continually growing market for production, we are the link between buying and sourcing,” said Thomas Dislich, Vicunha managing director in Europe and Asia.
Vicunha confirmed that it will exhibit at the upcoming Kingpins Amsterdam show, Oct. 26-27.
Dislich said, “As one of the world’s biggest denim producers, Kingpins is a must-attend event for us. Close contact and the chance to communicate with the industry is a major priority for Vicunha. It’s here in particular that we meet lots of product development teams who come to spot the latest trends.”
