Prps made the move back into the women’s denim market because of the lack of choice that Harrell saw at retail stores.
“I was looking at women’s denim out in the stores and it was all the same. It’s all dark, skinny, stretch pieces that don’t differentiate from brand to brand. I wanted to create something that was bold and stood out. Designing for women allows me to have more creative freedom than when I design for men which made creating this collection extremely fun. I got to run wild,” said Harrell.
Jeans span mid skinny and boyfriend tapered, to drop crotch boyfriend and high rise boyfriend culottes. Other highlights include an extra-long butcher shirt, patchwork shift dress and relaxed overalls. Retail prices are $198-$350 for jeans and $350-$525 for specialty pieces.
The debut of women’s coincides with the launch of the Prps’s new website, designed with a more user friendly navigation system.
“As we take a closer look at Prps, I want to bring forward a collection that is true to who I am as a designer but also further refine the look and tone of the offerings. 2017 will be a new start for Prps and I’m excited for the new look,” said Harrell.
