American Eagle Outfitters (AEO) is heading to the beach for Summer ’17.
Inspired by California’s relaxed, beachside lifestyle, the brand focused on light washes, surf motifs and DIY-embellishments for both men and women.
Denim shorts, mainly straight leg and distressed, dominated the men’s collection. The brand incorporated a worn-in look with heavily distressed jorts, frayed hems and 90’s washes. The SoCal look was carried through to trucker hats with tongue-in-cheek sayings and patches, tie-dye tees and short-sleeve button-down shirts with tropical prints. The brand also offered white and color denim for men, as well as slim chino shorts in teal and coral.
AEO’s women’s line featured novelty denim items like a jean jacket with star stitching and an oversized denim button-down with palm tree embroidery. Short-alls with a zipper front, and rigid boyfriend jeans enhanced the collection’s casual vibe.
