As Aéropostale strives to maintain its relevance in teen retail, the brand and retailer released summer 2016 trends that show inspiration from popular themes like festival wear.

The girls’ line is inspired by surf and skate culture, the ’60s and the contemporary festival circuit. Styles feature tie-dye and graffiti prints, embroidery and crochet details. The line is dominated by vibrant colors including tangerine and pinks, contrasted with earthy tones like rich browns and muted sage.

The guys’ collection took a cue from night festivals and underwater sea life, with neon hues mixed with black and balanced with heather gray and bleach white. Dominant items were light and distressed denim, muscle tanks and printed windbreakers. The line also features tie-dye and tropical prints, complemented with bright colors.
