American Eagle Outfitters to Launch Coffee-Infused Denim

When it’s deliver-or-die, supply chains become the lifeblood of a company. To that end, the fashion industry has embraced technology to navigate today’s hyper-complicated supply chain, with myriad solutions shaping the first, middle and last mile. Call it Sourcing 2.0.

Perk up—American Eagle Outfitters is tapping into the benefits of wearing coffee with a new line of jeans infused with odorless coffee grounds.

The Denim x Café line, available online and in stores beginning Oct. 15, makes use of coffee grounds that can no longer be used, according to Racked.

The grounds provide a natural deodorizing quality to the jeans, allowing for more wears between washes, and protects the wearer from UV rays. The line will retail between $49.95 and $54.95. A men’s collection, called Denim Flex Café, will also be available.

American Eagle touted its new concept on Sept. 29, National Coffee Day nonetheless, with singer Hilary Duff, who shared a photo of herself on Instagram wearing a pair of Denim x Café skinnies and sipping a cup of Joe.
