The retailer that introduced denim anomalies like triple waistband jeans and denim chaps to the online world isn’t toning down its look any time soon.
This spring, Asos is rolling out a women’s denim range that covers a broad swoop of trend stories spanning Versace-level opulence and colorful Tejano pop star style, plus generous fits and coordinates.
Golden flourishes and ’90s-era primary color plaids, reminiscent of the throwback collections Versace presented in its Spring ’18 and Fall ’18 runway collections, show up in Asos’ jeans.
The brand dives even deeper into ’90s fashion with checkerboard short shorts, cropped color blocked jean jackets and mom jeans with an all-over print of artist Robert Indiana’s “Hope” sculpture. A matching tangerine jean jacket and denim mini smacks gives a ’90s supermodel mood.
Asos takes a Pop Art turn with a white and black polka dot jean jacket and a belted jean jacket layered with newsprint, floral and Lichtenstein-inspired dots.
Dark rinse separates accented with contrast stitching offer a modern take on workwear. Pieces span ultra feminine bra tops and ruffled tanks to wide leg culottes. Grittier workwear styles include a washed red boiler suit and a green denim bomber jacket with cargo pockets on the sleeves.
For a lighter look and feel, Asos introduces a range of prairie puffed sleeve jean jackets and dresses, vintage rose print overalls and wide leg jeans with DIY-inspired rope lace waistbands. Eyelet tops, gray pencil skirts and sugary pink jeans sweetens the look. A light blue blazer and matching shorts offer a youthful take on suiting.
Asos takes on Texas as a fashion theme in a range that includes cow printed denim, beaded fringe and Mexican artwork. Floral prints on jean jackets and bottoms are made to look hand-painted, while a waterfall of fringe sways from the front of Western jackets. A pair of black jeans are cinched in up the leg with Western belt buckles.
Subtler options include a black jean button-down shirts are embellished with cascading fringe and black jeans with just a touch embossed silver details at the waist.
