Beyoncé Drops Eagerly Anticipated Activewear Line

Since her Superbowl performance and the release of the “Formation” video, Beyoncé’s star power has only continued to escalate, making it the perfect time to capitalize on her success and release the details of her much-awaited activewear collection.

The line was created in partnership with Sir Philip Green, the owner of Acadia Group, which includes Topshop and Topman. The collection, dubbed Ivy Park, will arrive online and in stores on April 14 and will be available in over 50 countries, at retailers including Topshop, Nordstrom, Zalando, Net-a-Porter and Selfridges.

The collection straddles the line between performance clothing and casualwear, defining itself as clothing meant for the modern woman’s lifestyle.

Beyoncé said in a statement, “My goal with Ivy Park is to push the boundaries of athletic wear and to support and inspire women who understand that beauty is more than your physical appearance. True beauty is in the health of our minds, hearts and bodies. I know that when I feel physically strong, I am mentally strong and I wanted to create a brand that made other women feel the same way.”

The debut line is made up of 200 pieces, with the core of the collection consisting of “second skin” pieces: tank tops, sports bras, seamless knits and body suits. Three, core legging shapes, made from wicking, non-pilling polyamide elastane are double-faced for full opacity and feature an inner contour short. Logo sweatshirts, cotton jersey tanks and tees and oversized mesh shirts round out the line. The sizes range from US size 2-14.

If social media is any indication, Ivy Park is set to be a huge success. Since the news broke Thursday morning, Ivy Park has already begun trending on Twitter and the Instagram page has 46,500 followers and counting.
