BPD Washhouse, the New Jersey-based washhouse and creator of the BPD Expo, announced Tuesday that it has acquired NYC Textiles Inc., a garment dye company.
NYC Textiles specializes in techniques like dip dye and tie dye. The company will now fall under the BPD umbrella; however, it will continue to work out of its original location.
BPD Washhouse Owner Bill Curtin said NYC Textiles has a “good local brand” clientele that can benefit from both companies’ services. Through the acquisition, the washhouse plans to tap into new areas of business and offer its current customers more areas of development that complement their denim offering.
“We can now expand our wet process into knits and tops. We can increase our garment dye product development and pre-production. It will also increase our small production capabilities in this area,” Curtin said.
BPD Washhouse works with brands of all sizes. The facility also offers educational opportunities at its Jersey City, N.J. hub.
