Capsule and Liberty Fairs want to make it easier to attend both New York menswear shows. Both shows are moving their 2016 show dates to Jan. 26-28 to accommodate the New York Fashion Week: Men’s presentation. Capsule will extend its show from two days to three days.
Capsule will also move its show to Pier 92 on Manhattan’s West Side, next to the Liberty show at Pier 94, a move intended to cut down on travel time between shows. Capsule Co-founder Deirdre Maloney said the show’s new venue is “an attempt to make attending market week as simple and time efficient as possible for the buyers in town for market.”
Meanwhile, Liberty Fair will continue its partnership with Erin Hawker’s NYMD at Liberty NYC.
In a statement, Liberty Fairs Founder Sam Ben-Avraham, said, “The team at Liberty is always looking for better ways to service the industry. Any time we see an opportunity to better the market or provide a more streamlined experience for the retailers we jump on it. Our alignment with Capsule for the upcoming season is one more step towards a new era focused on the spirit of collaboration. Since Liberty’s inception we’ve maintained our position that collaboration can exist amongst competition.”
