Cheap Monday, in collaboration with electronic company Teenage Engineering, has created a line of mini synthesizers called Pocket Operator. All models feature built-in speakers, an alarm clock and a headphone port.
The operators are designed on a single circuit board placed under the LCD display, which saves costs, allowing for high quality components and low power consumption. Three models are available: rhythm, sub, and factory; and each has its own set of effects such as filters, bit-crushing, delay and stutter.
Inspired by the synthesizers, Cheap Monday launched a line of T-shirts and pins printed with graphics of Teenage Engineer’s lab wear and the Pocket Operator motif.
The Pocket Operator retails for about $66 and is available, along with the apparel collection, at cool-kid emporium Colette in Paris, as well as Colette’s online shop and the Teenage Engineering website. Starting February, the products will be sold at cheapmonday.com and other select retailers.
