Teen retailer American Eagle is using color to inject newness into its Spring ’19 collection for men and women.
Taking cues from millennials’ documented love for head-to-toe colorful fashion, the brand presented the collection at its New York City showroom Wednesday in color-themed vignettes. Color groupings include millennial pink and washed aubergine, military green and camouflage, shades of blue, and natural khaki, ecru and mustard tones.
Each vignette included men’s and women’s jeans, denim jackets, corduroy pieces, tops, knits and accessories. The colorful items complement American Eagle’s core indigo denim line and seaside-inspired novelties.
Dad jeans and stretch jeans from the brand’s Ne(x)t Level line remain best-sellers for men. New items like a slim fit jean jacket and slim jeans are refreshed with bold ’90s-era crinkled washes. Nostalgic red, white and blue logo-driven knits, camp shirts with postcard prints and vintage-looking graphic tees round-out the men’s styles.
For women, American Eagle capitalizes on the coordinates trend with denim crop-tops and matching mini-skirts and jeans. High rise, button-fly jeans continue to perform well for the brand. American Eagle has also expanded its range of denim overalls, Bermuda shorts and sailor-inspired wide-leg jeans with matching denim belts.
