Denim Première Vision Launches a Consumer-Facing Event

Street style’s influence is spreading to trade shows. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Denim Première Vision, the Paris-based show will launch a double event that includes its traditional show format at the Paris Event Center and a denim pop-up street fair open to the public in the heart of Le Marais.

The companion events are planned to appeal to denim pure players and the increasing amount of luxury and high-end ready-to-wear brands, online-only brands, retailers and young designers entering the denim market.

Here’s a break down of what Denim Première Vision has planned for the upcoming event, Nov. 14-16.

  • Collections by avant-garde designers from denim, art galleries, street art and collective ateliers will be on display at the inaugural Denim Pop Up Street on Rue du Vertbois Nov. 14-16. The street will be entirely given over to denim, with a dozen boutiques taking part in the design and shopping event open to the general public and professionals. The one-off event will also provide inspiration, illustrated by gallery installations and contemporary artists. Visitors can also participate in DIY area and an open bar. Participating brands and designers include: Atelier Réservé, Ampersand Heart NY, Afterhomework, Billy Jackets, Fade Out Label, Hannah Brabon, Knorts, Leon Block, Savoar Fer, Tiia Maria Jaaola and more.
  • A total of 75 international exhibitors, including spinners, weavers, manufacturers and technology developers, will present their innovations for Spring/Summer 2019 at the Paris Event Center Nov. 15-16. A selection of exhibitors will partner with eight avant-garde designers to create 16 originals looks that represent the season.
  • To better adapt to the needs of denim brands and fashion designers, the show will introduce SMQ Corner—Small Minimum Quantities. The space will bring together a selection of fashion manufacturers, laundries and finishes offering flexible production volumes and fast to market services. SMQ Corner will include five companies from Italy, Morocco, Portugal and Turkey.
  • An updated seminar series is designed to inform visitors about hot topics, such as building a circular economy, the new socio-culture values of denim and the evolution of the denim value chain. Additional seminars will examine denim through the eyes of Generation Z, the hallmarks of a strong collaboration and communication through social media channels.
  • As always, the Denim Première Vision fashion team will deliver their Denim Trend Tasting, pinpointing game-changing trends and viewpoints for the Spring/Summer ’19 season. Fabrics, accessories, finishes, cuts and silhouettes will be introduced through 10 inspiring highlights, presented via a selection of creative, technical and technological products and developments from exhibitor’s collections. The show will also host its third vintage market with the support of Denim Boulevard’s team, which has traveled the world to select the original pieces that will be offered exclusively at the show.
