Denim Première Vision Shakes Up Format, Location and Leadership

Denim Première Vision is addressing the denim industry’s innovation and transformation with a new format, location and team reorganization.

On Thursday, Denim Première Vision announced that the first edition of its show in 2018 will be held in Paris from May 23 to 24, followed by a second edition that will take place in London on Dec. 5 and 6. The Paris iteration will take place at Parc Floral de Paris, and the London edition will be held in the Old Truman Brewery in London.

Moving forward, the show will be held bi-annually in Paris, one of the world’s fashion capitals and alternate with another fashion-forward European city. The aim of the location change is to foster proximity to design and fashion markets, while offering denim industry members a format that explores new trends and innovations. Further, an earlier show calendar will enable denim industry members to fulfill supply chain needs, so they can make final adjustments to their collections before they go into production.

The show organizer noted the changes are spurred by changes in the denim industry, which is now a multi-community product that has evolved from its vintage roots to become more diverse in creation and product development. Luxury labels continue to innovate in denim, retailers are exploring new ways to use the fabric and the industry as a whole is experiencing a shorter time to market—and some members are pursuing capsule collections to meet the demands of today’s tech-savvy consumers. And Denim Première Vision’s new event format will be changed to reflect those shifts.

At Denim Première Vision, attendees will still have the selective, creative and innovative experience the show has always offered. At the show, attendees can engage with different industry-related companies, including accessories manufacturers, weavers and denim washers and finishers.
