A new partnership connects a store owner looking for statement pieces with a denim brand whose foundation is built on exactly that.
New York City-based concept store and e-commerce site T.A. New York is offering early access to a curated selection of Italian denim brand Diesel’s most provocative pieces from its Spring/Summer 2022 collection.
It will showcase three women’s looks from creative director Glenn Martens’ first collection for Diesel, including a torn white T-shirt and medium-wash jeans that extend into boots, an ultra-distressed denim shirt with workwear-inspired straight leg jeans and a frayed denim belt, and a purple printed two-piece set.
The Meatpacking District-based store and its e-commerce site have an exclusive on the items before the garments make their way to Diesel stores and online next spring.
Telsha Anderson launched T.A. New York in July 2020 during the pandemic, when retailers everywhere were experiencing one of the most challenging moments in history. She has since been profiled by the likes of Vogue, in which she’s described as having success in “picking the most obscure thing off a line sheet” to stock her store.
The shop offers experiential shopping, with carefully curated statement-making pieces from just a handful of brands at any given time. Anderson’s approach was a strategic one, as trend forecasters point to extravagant colors and silhouettes as a strong post-pandemic fashion theme.
T.A. New York will offer Diesel’s runway looks throughout the fall. To celebrate the launch, Diesel and T.A. New York will host a cocktail reception on the rooftop of Creator House on Sept. 7.
