Premium denim brands like DL1961 are doing their part to prove that sustainability can be fashionable. The denim brand recently previewed the first 2020 collections in New York, revealing a season full of soft color palettes, diverse textures and matching sets.
Launching at retail in February, DL’s Spring/Resort 2020 line celebrates an escape from cold weather with lightweight fabrics and pieces that break away from traditional denim.
Highlights in the women’s line includes a utility dress with patch pockets and cuffed short sleeves, lightweight joggers and button-down cropped shirts with soft detailing at the shoulders. Exposed button-flys, front seaming details and contrast stitching add interest to denim garments throughout the collection.
Novelty prints and color deliver a springtime vibe to jeans and denim sets. Skinny jeans are refreshed in light yellow and lavender color ways. One of the brand’s bestsellers, a high-rise wide-leg jean, is also available in soft pink and white.
Standout duos include a cropped denim jacket and matching high-rise skinny jean in a bright shade of ultramarine blue. The collection also includes the Evie Top, a denim camisole with a frayed hem, and matching tapered boyfriend jeans with light distressing.
Other duos include a leopard print cropped denim jacket with matching high-waisted shorts, as well as a camo print cropped jacket with drawstring frayed shorts.
Men can look forward to color as well, with many chino shorts and pants available in a slew of spring-inspired colors, such as peach, soft yellow, light blue and classic blue.
