Christian Audigier, the founder of the clothing labels Ed Hardy and Von Dutch, died at the age of 57. He is survived by a daughter and two sons.

In April, TMZ reported Audigier was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MSD).

His career in fashion began more than 30 years ago, working for Guess, Levis, Diesel, American Outfitters, Fiourucii, Bisou Bisou and XOXO. However, he is best known for popularizing Ed Hardy’s tattoo-inspired apparel. In 2011, Audigier sold Ed Hardy to Iconix Group for $62 million.
