Right now, red means business. The power color has had a strong hold on fashion for the past two seasons, and will march on for Spring ’18 in denim.
The latest styles available online span vivid brights, to vintage washes and collegiate burgundies. And the hue dominates women’s novelty denim at every tier.
Bershka plays with Crayola-inspired workwear, contrasting pieces like a boxy Trucker and cropped wide leg jeans with white stitching. J Brand’s lacquer skinnies add wow factor to its range of edgy blue and black jeans, while Lucky Brand finds a happy medium with cherry red skinny jeans.
Gap balances its range of pastel denim for spring with pops or deep coral red. Monki and Rag & Bone play with shades of tomato red. G-Star and H&M combine the hot hues with lettering and embroidery.
Expect to see more red in the coming seasons, too. The color remains a go-to for fashion with feminist statements and “Mailbox red” was among the striking colors Edited noticed during Fall ’18 presentations.
Bold, colorful denim also made Amy Leverton’s list of denim predictions for Spring ’19, including bright and synthetic shades of red, yellow and pink. Leverton added that the bright shades will be paired with boxy, anti-fit bodies and tongue-in-cheek statements.
