Women’s Knitwear Brand Ella Moss Introduces Denim for Fall

Quintessential California brand Ella Moss launched its first effort to break into the women’s denim market.

Widely known for its premium knits and Southern California aesthetic, the brand, a division of ONE Jeanswear Group, introduced a denim collection for fall inspired by art, culture and travel.

“Denim was a natural extension of the brand,” said Kirsten Lee, senior vice president of design and fabric R&D for Ella Moss and ONE Jeanswear Group. Lee said the brand applied the same “laid back California sensibility” to the denim line, while creating a denim foundation built on fits and premium fabrics.

The brand artfully plays with washes with a patchwork funnel neck top and jeans with uneven hems. High-waist wide leg jeans with a pronounced front seam and dark rinse flares add a bohemian ’70s look. A cropped jean jacket with oversized front pockets, drapey button-down shirt and distressed boyfriend jeans capture Ella Moss’ relaxed SoCal vibe.

The denim line complements the boxy rose-colored sweatshirts, striped tops and knotted blouses in the brand’s knit collection for fall.

The collection, Lee added, has “the ultimate T-shirt and jeans attitude.”

Sizes for the Ella Moss denim collection range from XS-XL for tops and 24-32 for bottoms. The line, which retails for $59.50 to $129.50, is available now at Dillards, Belk, Lord & Taylor and Anthropologie.com.
