Emilia Fabricant, who recently left her post as executive vice president at Aeropostale, is moving to Kate Spade & Company. The company announced Tuesday Fabricant will joined Kate Spade & Company as Executive Vice President, President of North America, effective June 29.
In her new role, Fabricant will oversee the brand’s North American business across all distribution channels. She will report to CEO Craig Leavitt.
In a statement, Leavitt said, “Emilia’s combination of experience with luxury retailers, mall-based retailers and online businesses makes her an excellent fit for our team. She will bring valuable leadership and perspective as we continue to focus on our channel-agnostic approach and on fulfilling our lifestyle vision to drive profitability.”
He added, “As our business continues to expand across our four category pillars–women’s, men’s, children’s and home–Emilia will play a central role in overseeing all aspects of our distribution channels in North America.”
On Friday, Aeropostale announced Fabricant’s departure from the company. In a statement, Aeropostale CEO Julian Geiger noted that the company is taking a series of structural changes to balance responsibility. He said, “In conjunction with these changes, I believe that the strength of our senior design and merchandising teams positions us well on our path to profitability.”
