Global Denim Focuses on Weight for S/S 17

Weight is the focal point of Global Denim’s collection for Spring/Summer ’17 collection. The Mexico-based mill said stretch and rigid is no longer a “valid conversation” in the denim world as both have become a norm in men’s and women’s markets.

Instead Global Denim is dividing its collection into fabric under 10 oz. and fabric 10 oz. or more.

The Hardcore collection for S/S 17 examines heavier fabrics with a more masculine appearance. Along with classic rigid denim, Global Denim is digging deeper into sturdier, high-stretch denim with Lycra for extreme activities as well as new denim with warp-only stretch.

Global Denim’s lightweight line, Enlightened, represents spring itself with fun, light and airy fabrications under 10 oz. The mill teams breezy shirting weights with Tencel bottom weights. Constructions with a structured, high-stretch foundation offers fit and better recovery alongside comfort and softness.

Deep indigo, ink and black continue to be strong themes for the season, meanwhile natural returns as a light option. The mill is also introducing a new lighter shade called Old Blue to round out its spring line.
