Guess Celebrates 35 Years with FIDM Exhibition

Guess continues its 35th anniversary celebration with the opening of an exhibition titled “Guess: 35 Years & Still Dreaming,” at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) Museum & Galleries, in downtown Los Angeles last Tuesday.

The exhibit explores Guess’ role and achievements in the denim industry. The retrospective involves two galleries, each celebrating a different Guess-specific innovation.

The first gallery depicts an educational look at denim through fabric, wash process, fit and function, including a history of the wet and dry process, hardware, sewing, fit, fabric and jean anatomy.

The second gallery, “Decades of Guess: Campaigns, Pop Culture + Color,” takes visitors through a visual journey of Guess’ history through its iconic imagery. The gallery is divided into decades, showing the influence the brand has had over denim in its tenure.

“This exhibition is a representation of Guess’ place at the forefront of fashion and its culture. It’s also a homage to Los Angeles, our home, our roots, and our legacy in creating an industry here in our city,” said Guess COO Paul Marciano. “I am happy to share this special tribute with you. Our heritage is forever ingrained in denim, all denim out there, and this will continue to be the case for the next 35 years and beyond.”

The exhibition is set to run through July 8.
