The brand recently unveiled its Holiday ’19 collection, a line that “fuses equal parts modern and vintage,” featuring woven labels, buttons and rivets that embrace the same aesthetic as Guess pieces from the ’80s and ’90s.
The 26-piece collection offers a selection of graphic T-shirts, oversized hoodies, jackets, cargo pants and denim joggers for men, as well as a matching two-piece black nylon track suit. The women’s line spans everything from bodysuits and cropped hoodies to logo-embellished short- and long-sleeve shirts.
A retro color palette amps up the collection’s nostalgic vibe. The line blends together mixtures of blue and yellow tones, with pops of forest green, maroon and cream. Solids and stripes are used across the collection.
To promote the holiday line, Guess tapped photographer Asato Lida and models Victoria Britt, Douda Ka and Sparkish for a shoot shot in a Beverly Hills’ movie theater.
With nostalgia trending among millennial and Gen Z consumers, the Guess archive has been a pool of inspiration for both the main Guess line and its Originals collection.
Guess Originals launched in 2016 as a platform for Guess to re-imagine its iconic styles for contemporary consumers. The line has since brought back Guess’ original triangle logo, acid wash and stonewashed denim styles.
