Isko Presents the Blue Denim Installation

“It’s all about fostering creativity, innovation, dialogue and partnership in the denim industry,” said Kutay Saritosun, senior marketing executive of Isko at the Blue Exhibit launch party. Spawned by Tony Chu of the brand development agency The Boom Collective, the Blue Denim installation featured Fall ’15 collections from brands such as AG and Mavi. This is the first time that Chu collaborated with Coterie on this initiative and Isko was tapped as the exclusive partner.

Known for innovation and technology, Isko offers its textile expertise via global seminars and panels discussing issues of their denim and supply chain partners. Now, the Blue Denim installation allows the leading denim fabric producer to participate in this convention. “Usually the tradeshows are about the brands and the suppliers are not a part of the show,” Saritosun noted.

Participating brands of Blue Denim told Rivet, “To be part of Isko’s Blue is important to Siwy because it brings to life what we are passionate about. As a brand that designs by using the latest washes and techniques, this involvement with Isko that manufactures the newest denim available is a perfect fit. We celebrate the creation of denim innovation as that is in our blood and this program is just the beginning for people to understand what denim is all about,” said Jen Neumeister, creative director of Siwy.

“Mavi is excited to be involved with Blue. Isko is the premiere denim supplier and it is important for Mavi to be part of any Isko collaborations to show our support. As a brand that utilizes many of Isko’s denim innovations in fabric technology within our collection, Mavi is more than delighted to be part of this groundbreaking initiative,” said Ardie Ulukaya, SVP of Mavi.

Isko also provides educational programs where they pick high school students from fashion schools around the world and teach them how to work with denim and create denim collections. They also launched a book last year called “Bluemasters, Innovation in Denim,” where the book talks about the history of denim and shares in-depth interviews with denim gurus. A great fundamental resource to inspire the young talent in the industry.
