Johny Dar Debuts Star-Studded “Jeans For Refugees” Collection

Join Sourcing Journal on March 13th HKT for Sourcing Summit Hong Kong for discussions on mending relationships between supply chain partners, remaking factories for smaller MOQs and faster turns, and creating resilience to survive the next inevitable crisis.

Anna Wintour, Emma Watson, Kate Moss hit the runway for a good cause during New York Fashion Week—or at least their jeans did.

Johny Dar presented his latest collection “Jeans For Refugees” during NYFW featuring celebrity-donated jeans which the designer painted over and are being auctioned off for charity at Jeans for Refugee’s website.

The star-studded list of donated jeans includes the likes of Anna Wintour, Emma Watson, Kate Moss, Sharon Stone, Sofia Coppola, Victoria Beckham, Daniel Radcliffe, Harry Styles, Jaquin Phoenix, Ozzy Osbourne, Tom Waits, Usher and many more.

In addition to jeans, Dar’s collection included full-length gowns, scarves and tops in materials like red and gold snakeskin, black mesh leather and silk. The proceeds of these celebrity-powered couture pieces will be donated to the Big Heart Foundation to help the international refugee crisis, which the New York Times reported was at an all-time high this summer at 65 million people.
