Starting in Guangzhou on Sept. 19, the Kingpins tour traveled to Hangzhou on Sept. 21 and finished in Zhengzhou on Sept. 23. Overall, more than 224 companies and 607 buyers attended and shopped at the shows.
Based on the success of the tour, Kingpins announced it will return to China Sept. 18-22, 2017 with bigger shows and more segments in Guangzhou, Xiamen and Hangzhou.
Kingpins’ concept for the inaugural tour combined global perspective with intimate and beautiful settings, which the show reported resonated well with the Chinese brands, designers and manufacturers. Attendees included Able Jeans, Adwin, C&A, Wrangler, Zara, Trendy Group, Bossini, Lilanz, Essay and Etam.
Global trend expert Amy Leverton collaborated with Kingpins during the China City Tour to present her denim trend overview of the Chinese market. Leverton’s presentation was the first time such high-level denim research was created exclusively to meet the needs of the Chinese market.
Other highlights included a showcase by Garmon Group, which focused on the company’s array of environmentally responsible wash techniques for denim.
