Levi’s new collaboration with brand ambassador Emma Chamberlain celebrates summer and more.
The brand reconnected with YouTube personality to drop a limited-edition 501 jean short Friday, May 20—which blue bloods know as Levi’s 501 day, commemorating the world’s first blue jean receiving its official patent on May 20, 1873.
Last fall, Levi’s launched a popup at its Times Square flagship in New York City in partnership with Chamberlain Coffee, the influencer’s java-making label.
Made to resemble a classic pair of Levi’s cutoffs, the Levi’s x Emma Chamberlain 501 shorts come in on-trend chocolate overdyed denim and feature a raw hem and all-over print with summer-inspired elements like strawberries, seashells, sailboats and woodland creatures. The 100 percent cotton short is based on Levi’s new ’90s version of the 501.
The design resonates with the Gen Z influencer, who spent her summers swimming in the ocean, watching boats, and exploring lighthouses while dressed in her favorite Levi’s 501 shorts.
“Growing up, I used to spend my summers on the East Coast, and I basically lived in the same pair of 501s the whole time,” Chamberlain said in a release. “So, I wanted to create a pair of 501 shorts that really captured that pure joy of summer when you’re a kid, when everything feels magical.”
The Levi’s x Emma Chamberlain 501 short is available exclusively on Levi.com and the Levi’s app. The shorts retail for $98.

As part of Levi’s 501 day celebrations, a selection of customization offerings curated by Chamberlain will also be available at Levi’s Tailor Shops. Included are a mix of custom patches, customized “EC” back patches, and colored buttons for button swaps.
The 501 is at the center of Levi’s new campaign called “Levi’s 501: The Number That Changed Everything.” Ahead of what will be the iconic style’s 150th anniversary next year, Levi’s teamed with five “visionaries” whose stories embody the jean’s spirit.
Featured in the campaign are “Euphoria” actor Barbie Ferreira; A$AP Nast, a founding member of A$AP Mob; DJ, artist and producer Peggy Gou; soccer star, philanthropist and children’s activist Marcus Rashford; and model and YouTube host Hailey Bieber, who was named the face of the 501 in 2019.
