The second collaboration between Levi’s and Jordan Brand finally has a launch date.
The Jordan x Levi’s Air Jordan IV and Jordan Reversible Trucker Jacket will launch worldwide on Jan. 17. Photos of the sneakers were leaked online last month, causing a stir among denim and sneaker heads.
The collaboration is a delicate balance of each brands’ DNA.
“The inspiration is two iconic brands coming together and there’s a lot of energy around both brands at the moment so it’s a great time to collaborate,” Steven Burns, Levi’s global design director for men’s bottoms, said in a release. “The details of the shoes and jackets share the same denim, the same wash, the same threads, the same weight. I like that idea of technical sport apparel mixed with our authentic heritage because it gives it a different kind of edge.”
The Jordan x Levi’s Air Jordan IV ($225 retail) plays with warp and weft. The sneaker features an authentic denim upper in a standard Levi’s wash and reverse denim material on the sock liner and insole.
Levi’s “Two Horse” tag has been remixed to include the iconic Jumpman logo and is featured on both tongues and the hangtag. Finishing touches include gum details on the outsole, gold stitching, denim-colored laces and the standard Levi’s Red Tab.
The Jordan Reversible Trucker Jacket ($180 retail) is a marriage classic Levi’s Trucker craftsmanship and the crinkle taffeta of a Jordan warm-up suit. Worn with the denim side out, red taffeta is stitched into underarm panels for a peek-a-boo flash of color. The back is adorned with a lightly distressed, silicone raised Flight logo.
Reverse it out and Trucker becomes a perforated, black, crinkle taffeta jacket with a denim accented collar and the Jumpman Flight logo on the back.
The collection will have a limited release. Levi’s San Francisco Market Street will carry both pieces from the collection. Levi’s stores located at its San Francisco HQ Plaza, as well as stores in Chicago, Las Vegas, New York City and Ontario will be carrying only the Jordan Reversible Trucker Jacket.
Additional stores will sell the collection, including Concepts in Boston and New York City, Shoe Gallery and Sole Fly in Miami, UBIQ in Philadelphia and Undefeated in Los Angeles.
Worldwide, Levi’s retail stores in Paris, Berlin, London, Shanghai, Osaka and Harajuku will carry both the Jordan Reversible Trucker Jacket and the Air Jordan IV.
