There are more than 50 ways to wear a Levi’s Trucker jacket, but the brand’s new campaign shows some of the best we’ve ever seen.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 1967 70505 Type III Trucker jacket—better known as the Trucker—Levi’s partnered with 50 icons and influencers from around the world to customize their own jean jacket.
The anniversary project honors pop culture’s longtime love affair with the Trucker. Collaborators include Chance the Rapper, Solange Knowles, Snoop Dogg, Diplo, Justice, Karlie Kloss, Romee Strijd, Virgil Abloh, Clayton Kershaw, Robbie Rogers, Taylor Kitsch, Karla Welch, Rob Zangardi, Tinie Tempeh, Justin Timberlake and more.
Styles span romantic like Off-White Founder Virgil Abloh’s tulle confection, to retro like Karlie Kloss’s washed down cropped jacket.
In 1967, the Type III became a major symbol of pop and music culture with George Harrison wearing one during the Summer of Love in San Francisco. The same year, the jacket was also branded as a companion piece to the new 505TM zipper-fly jean and was badged with the product number 70505. Until then, Levi’s denim jackets—the Type II and the Type I that debuted in the late 1800s—were considered workwear.
