The Levi Strauss Foundation served as an event sponsor at last weekend’s 40th anniversary of the National Center for Lesbian Rights (NCLR) event in San Francisco.

The event took place in San Francisco’s Palace of Fine Arts, with political humorist Kate Clinton and tennis star Martina Navratilova in attendance .

Continuing its legacy of furthering social and human rights, Levi’s has helped support the NCLR with the brand’s Pioneers in Justice Initiative since 2010. The Pioneers in Justice Initiative helps next generation leaders from leading social justice non-profits affect change by showing them how to properly invest in building and supporting new ways of working.

At the 40th anniversary event, Kate Kendall, executive director of the NCLR, spoke on the organizations accomplishments, and battles that the current political climate imposes on minority communities in the U.S. Levi’s urged its continued support of the NCLR and continues the fight for a better world.
