Denim brands continue to elevate their performance and commuter collections. For Fall ’16, Levi’s Skateboarding turned to the military for design, culling inspiration from early to mid 20th Century Army Corps Engineers.
Levi’s reinterpreted the simple, yet protective and purposeful garments worn by the Army Corps of Engineers for skateboarders, placing an emphasis on mobility and durability.
The collection includes staples like the 511, 513 and 504 jeans and Levi’s Work Pant. Cargo pants are revamped in classic corduroy. The collection’s Field jacket combines workwear and military styling, meanwhile, tops include chambray work shirts, fleece crew neck sweatshirts and two-pack tees. Levi’s Skateboarding collection is available now with stock exclusively in skate shops worldwide.
To promote the new collection, Levi’s released a three-minute documentary featuring professional skaters Marius Syvanen, Josh Matthews, Al Partanen, and others as they help locals build a skate park in Puerto Penasco, Mexico.
