Levi’s New Jeans Are Designed to Show Off Sneakers

Levi’s is refining the sneaker and jean combo.

With some of the most sought-after sneakers this season reaching upward of $1,000, Levi’s has a new men’s jean that frames these pricey investments in classic streetwear style.

The brand introduced the Hi-Ball Roll Jeans, a slim, cropped and rolled jean that provides “the perfect canvas” for showing off shoes. Slim through the hip and thigh, the tapered jean has a 2-inch pre-rolled cuff—eliminating any styling woes.

Levi’s describes the jean as The Levi’s Hi-Ball Roll “the ultimate jean for sneakers” and says the “streetwear-inspired, cropped jeans will spotlight your fresh kicks with eye-catching, effortless Levi’s style.”

Just as women’s denim is paying close attention to hem treatments that help frame footwear, men’s bottoms are moving toward cropped silhouettes that show off coveted kicks. And with the global sneaker market expected to reach $220.4 billion by 2020, according to data by Transparency Market Research, the interest in abbreviated lengths is not expected to wane any time soon.

The cropped jean also serves as a street alternative to joggers, which Fashion Snoops said shows signs of slowing.

The Hi-Ball Roll is available in four colorways, spanning a vintage wash with rips to a pristine black. The jean retails for under $89.50.
