Levi’s Leans Into the Loungewear Trend with Unisex Sweats

Not even the most widely known denim brand can resist the urge to step into something more comfortable during trying times.

Levi’s recently introduced Levi’s Red Tab Unisex Sweats, a collection of French terry sweats—each distinguished by the heritage brand’s hallmark red tab typically found on the back pocket of its jeans.

Made with 100 percent organic cotton, Levi’s garment dyed loungewear features a unisex design and relaxed vintage fit, which the brand says is “tailored enough that you’ll stay stylish—whether hanging out at home or out and about.”

Levi’s collection includes a crewneck sweatshirt, sweatpants and a hoodie offered in sizes XS-XL. Each garment features a subtle Levi’s logo and a Levi’s red tab fixed to a cuff or pant pocket. Pieces are available in five colors: navy, black, tea green, coral and heather gray. The collection retails for $64.50-$69.50.

Levi’s joins a growing roster of brands with denim roots entering the loungewear space. NYDJ recently bowed its first line of sweats called Forever Comfort. The collection features women’s tie-dye hoodies and jogger pants in three colors. L’Agence recently bowed an elevated sweats collection as well.

Though it isn’t Levi’s first go at sweats, the collection smacks of quarantine inspiration, down to how it is being promoted. For the launch, Levi’s looked no further than its own designers to star in the campaign, photographing the creatives wearing the collection at their homes.
