Lucky Brand Dungarees, LLC reached a settlement and license agreement with laser technology firm RevoLaze LLC for a patent infringement lawsuit.
The lawsuit, filed with the International Trade Commission and the Cleveland U.S. District Court in August 2014, argued that 17 brands, including Lucky Brand, were violating patents that protected RevoLaze’s laser abrasion denim technology. In accordance with the new agreement, Lucky Brand now has a non-exclusive, royalty bearing license to use RevoLaze patented technology for denim garments.
In a statement, RevoLaze CEO Darryl Costin, PhD. said, “We are very pleased to partner with a world-class company like Lucky Brand. We are excited to partner with Lucky Brand to help them realize the cost, quality, throughput and environmental advantages with our technology.”
