It’s a fun time to be a denim designer. Los Angeles-based designer Luda Khanlari plays with “normcore” fits, zipper treatments and oversized baubles in his debut collection.
The designer makes a statement with proportions and heavy weight denim. Key items for men include high-waisted slim tapered fit jeans and a bubble fit jean jacket made from 13.5 oz. selvedge. A range of oversized long-sleeve pullover tops, over shirts and drawstring vests round out the collection.
The men’s collection is available for pre-order now with a retail launch coming in June at American Rag, Rand + Statler, Traffic, The Well, Xhibition and more. Pieces retail for $135-$300.
Khanlari is also dabbling in a limited range of reworked women’s Levi’s embellished with hand-sewn jewels and embroidery. Jeans retail for $400-$500.
