Marc Nelson Denim owner George Marcus Hall, who made his name in the industry with whiskey-stained denim, has now stained his reputation as well as his jeans.

After pleading guilty to charges of conducting an illegal gambling operation last year, Hall has been sentenced to 33 months in federal prison. According to the Knoxville News Sentinel, the plea agreement described a large-scale operation involving a half-dozen businesses including Marc Nelson Denim.

WJHL reported that Hall and his co-defendants owned and ran a daily numbers gambling operation for seven years that employed more than 20 people and made about $2,000 per day.
