Marni Named Guest Designer of Pitti Uomo

All eyes will be on Marni at Pitti Uomo in Florence. The Italian label, which recently celebrated 20 years in the business, has been named the trade fair’s guest designer. The three-day menswear event kicked off Tuesday.

Marni, led by creative director Consuelo Castiglioni, will showcase its Fall ’15 men’s collection at an exclusive fashion show on Jan. 15.

Castiglioni said, “Pitti Uomo has always celebrated the avant-garde and experimentation. Elements which coincide with my work with the menswear collection: to interpret the true menswear staples through functionality and classicism, combined with contrasting elements and unexpected details.”

Pitti Immagine CEO Raffaello Napoleone was more than happy to have Marni participate at the bi-annual fair. He said, “I am very happy that Consuelo Castiglioni accepted our invitation to present the new look in the Marni men’s collection on the Pitti catwalk. The name is one of the undisputed leaders on the international fashion scene, and we have always admired the creativity, elegance and nonconformity that always distinguish its style.”
