Mother Releases a Gender-Neutral Capsule Collection

Join Sourcing Journal on March 13th HKT for Sourcing Summit Hong Kong for discussions on mending relationships between supply chain partners, remaking factories for smaller MOQs and faster turns, and creating resilience to survive the next inevitable crisis.

L.A.-based denim brand Mother is following in the footsteps of Zara, Levi’s and Diesel, releasing a gender-neutral denim capsule collection.

The 10-piece collection, titled Love Your Other, consists of jeans, graphic tees, sweatshirts, flight suits and flight jackets. The jeans have a skinny but slouchy fit and sizing ranges from 24-36.

The line’s T-shirts call out the mission with slogans like “Mx,” “Love Your Other,” “Labeless” and “Not 100%.” The collection draws inspiration from Self Evident Truths, a project documenting in photographs 10,000 people in the United States that identity as anything other than 100 percent straight. A portion of the proceeds will also go to this campaign.

Tim Kaeding, Mother designer and co-founder, said, “We were inspired by the concept of doing away with labels and blurring the lines of gender and sexuality.”

The collection retails for $105-$359 and is available in boutiques and department stores worldwide, as well as online.
