Mount Vernon and Carhartt Debut Flame-Resistant Jeans

Register for the Feb. 17 webinar, De-Risking Supply Chains Through Nearshoring, today to learn how to realize the benefits of localizing supply chains from factories that are helping brands successfully produce in the U.S.

Mount Vernon FR and Carhartt joined together to launch the Carhartt Flame Resistant Rugged Flex Jean. The jeans combine FlexTex FR denim from Mount Vernon FR with technology from Carhartt to provide comfort and protection in the work environment.

The jeans use an elastometric fiber with bilateral flex, which allows the pants to elongate sideways and diagonally to eliminate sagging, and they are mechanically washed to create a soft finish.

“Carhartt and Mount Vernon Mills are both century-old brands with steeped heritage in manufacturing excellence,” said Tom Kiddle, director of specialized services at Carhartt. “Partnering with Mount Vernon Mills, a leader in innovative textile technology, afforded us the opportunity to be one of the first FR apparel manufacturers to add stretch into our denim program.”

The Carhartt Flame Resistant Rugged Flex Jean will be available in July 2015.
