Raised by Wolves Teams With Naked & Famous for Selvedge Denim Collection

Canadian streetwear brand, Raised by Wolves, is teaming up with fellow Canadians and raw denim specialists, Naked & Famous, for a new collection of selvedge denim that promises to turn heads, thanks to a blunt message woven into every selvedge edge in the collection.

“F**K OFF” can be found written in all-caps on every seam of the unisex selvedge collection, which includes three styles of jeans, a denim jacket, a five-panel denim cap and a customized skateboard deck. Each piece is manufactured using 12.5-ounce Japanese selvedge denim, a mainstay of Naked & Famous apparel.

Naked & Famous contributed its most popular fits for the collection, like the “Easy Guy,” which boasts a roomy, athletic fit that tapers sharply at the knee. There’s also the “Weird Guy” fit, a slim fit with a medium-low rise and another skinny fit with a heavier taper at the knee and a higher rise called the “Super Guy.” A selvedge denim jacket with two chest pockets and pointed flaps rounds out the apparel portion of the capsule.

The denim cap is the only accessory to be included in the collection and it is also made of selvedge denim. The adjustable strap is decorated with the collection’s famous slogan to give the capsule’s headwear a dose of the same attitude as the rest. Additionally, a skateboard deck will be available for purchase with the collection that features custom artwork.

Naked & Famous recently opened a unique flagship store in New York City. The brand has made waves for its slavish devotion to high-quality denim and its cartoonish logo of a “tragic blond,” who can be found topless and befriending a pack of wolves on the natural vegetable tan leather patch found on every pair of jeans in the collection. The motif is repeated in the custom artwork on the collection’s skateboard deck.

Naked & Famous founder, Brandon Svarc, was recently named in Rivet’s Influential 50 for his brand’s creative influence over the jeanswear industry.

Raised by Wolves, on the other hand, made its name in streetwear by “putting Canada on the streetwear map,” according to the brand’s website. It was founded by Pete Williams, former editor-in-chief of the popular streetwear blog Highsnobiety, in 2008. It is a youth-focused boutique retailer that’s in more than 20 worldwide markets and is known to regularly collaborate with local artists and brands.

The Raised by Wolves x Naked and Famous collection will be available exclusively at each brand’s website and at Tate + Yoko, a Canadian retailer that also specializes in the sale of Japanese denim.
