NYDJ Expands Into Japan

When it’s deliver-or-die, supply chains become the lifeblood of a company. To that end, the fashion industry has embraced technology to navigate today’s hyper-complicated supply chain, with myriad solutions shaping the first, middle and last mile. Call it Sourcing 2.0.

Itochu Corporation, a trading company based in Tokyo, announced the signing of an agreement with NYDJ Apparel, LLC. Itochu will hold the exclusive import and distribution rights of the NYDJ brand in the Japanese market.

The sale of NYDJ will be managed by Cross Plus Inc., which will distribute the product to major department and specialty stores. Sales will begin in Spring 2015, and the brand’s full launch will begin in Fall ’15.

Itochu will enhance brand awareness of NYDJ in Japan with the aim of achieving retail sales of ¥2 billion ($16.8 million) in three years.
