NYDJ Elevates the Basic Black Legging

While the popularity of skinny jeans is currently under debate, leggings are still very much a garment of choice in the new loungewear-focused climate.

Women’s lifestyle brand NYDJ is elevating the comfortable basic, however, with its new Sculpt-Her collection. The collection includes The Leader, a pull-on skinny legging with a shiny black finish; The Working Mom, a pull-on skinny legging with a matte black finish; The Executive, a five-pocket legging that resembles a pair of jeans; and The Actress, a pull-on pencil skirt.

Each legging features NYDJ’s signature Lift Tuck compression technology that uses a panel with a patented criss-cross design to slim the waist and provide extra lift in the back.

The new line is another example of how NYDJ aims to raise the bar of everyday fashion. Just last month, it launched SpanSpring, a line of skinny jeans that stretch to fit three sizes, accommodating weight fluctuations and reducing the need for shoppers to frequently discard ill-fitting items and re-purchase new ones. Within a matter of one week, the product sold out completely, proving that skinny jeans aren’t going anywhere for the brand’s customers.

But while jeans will always be the foundation of NYDJ, it’s already begun the move to other apparel categories. “We are dressing our woman for all aspects of her life,” Estelle Dahn, vice president of design, told Rivet.

Recently, the company introduced Forever Comfort, a range of luxe loungewear spanning French Terry separates and cotton T-shirts. It also expanded its blouse offerings to include new silhouettes and elevated sweaters.

NYDJ’s Sculpt-Her collection is available now online and in stores. The collection, available in sizes XXS-5X, 00-18, and 14W-28W, retails for $79-$89.
