Rag & Bone’s new capsule collection poses and answers the question: What will fashion’s future staples be?
The New York-based brand launched “Future Staples,” a line comprised of women’s, men’s and unisex clothing and accessories “defined by versatile fabrications engineered for ease and functionality.”
Relaxed fabrics like overdyed and stonewashed organic cotton and ponte, coupled with a seasonless color palette of black, white and unexpected pops of saffron and sage elevate the collection of wardrobe-building pieces.
Men’s items include tees, zipper hoodies, crewneck knits, trousers and shorts. The women’s line offers “figure flattering” leggings, low-back bodysuits, tank tops and dresses and paper bag waist pants. Women’s sizes span XXS-L and men’s span XS-XXL.
The unisex outerwear assortment culls inspiration from heritage designs, including an unlined coated linen parka and a bomber jacket made with 100 percent recycled nylon. Baseball caps, an oversized tote, a cotton blend beanie and the brand’s newly updated Retro Runner round out the collection, which retails for $95-$695.
The concept echo’s recent efforts by Rag & Bone to incorporate more comfortable and versatile pieces into their assortments, including the tromp l’oeil printed “jean” that went viral at the start of the pandemic. In November, the brand highlighted Sherpa accented shirt jackets and knitwear at its popup shop in the Grove’s Glass Box at Nordstrom in Los Angeles. It also offers a deep range of colorful cashmere sets as loungewear.
The “Future Staples” collection is available on Rag & Bone’s e-commerce site and select stores, as well as key retailers worldwide. In-store event experiences at the Rag & Bone Miami Design District will further amplify the capsule.
