Sequential Brands Group, owners of Joe’s Brand and Jessica Simpson, recently appointed Andrew Cooper as president. Cooper will report directly to CEO Yahuda Shmidman.

Cooper comes to Sequential with over 20 years of experience. Prior to Sequential, Cooper served as a partner of Pegasus Capital Advisors and CEO of Universal Lubricants, a Pegasus Capital Portfolio company. Cooper also acted as the senior vice president at Priceline.com.

The announcement of Cooper’s appointment comes during a time of growth within the company.

“In a short time, our team has successfully built a portfolio of brands that represented less than $100 million in global retail sales a few years ago to a portfolio that currently generates $4 billion in global retail sales,” Shmidman said in a statement. “As we work towards achieving our future growth goals, it’s exciting to know that our team has expanded in parallel, putting us in the perfect position to deliver results,” he explained.

Sequential Chairman William Sweedler also cited the benefits of bringing Cooper to the team. Sweedler mentions Cooper’s expertise in assisting companies in reaching operational excellence while growing productivity, as something he hopes Cooper’s new role will help improve in long-term goals for Sequential.
