Sneak Peek at Levi’s Fall ’17 Collections

Levi’s showed three of its top tiered labels at Liberty Fairs in Las Vegas, offering vintage styling, winter looks and locally sourced goods for Fall ’17.

Levi’s Vintage Collection pays respect to the original folks who donned their jeans—cowboys.

With the concept “Tales from the Old West,” the collection revisits archival designs and recreates worn-in looks. Highlights include a series of yellow-tinted chambray shirts, beaten up with patchwork repair. The collection also uses denim from Cone’s Natural Indigo Collection made with indigo plants grown by Nashville-based Stony Creek Colors.

The Made & Crafted collection brings back its signature blue label with cleaned up versions of favorite styles. A highlight in the collection is a woman’s pale blue denim coat with Sherpa lining.

With vintage Levi’s becoming increasingly difficult to find, the brand is cutting out the work by rolling out vintage-inspired jeans with rips, floral embroidery and some selvedge under its Levi’s Premium label.

Straight, wide leg and boyfriend jeans dominate the Premium collection, while the new Levi’s Altered program focuses on deconstructs classics. Signature elements are tweaked—customary back patches are missing, arcuate stitching is removed to create a shadow effect and jeans are pieced together. Jean jackets are collarless, with a clean or frayed edge.

Made in U.S.A. is the big story in the men’s Premium line. The line, which focuses on classic men’s fits like the 501, 511 and 504, is made with Cone Denim and assembled in a plant in Texas known for employing veterans—a nice nod to Levi’s CEO Chip Bergh military experience.
