With show season around the corner, global denim events are beginning to reveal what to expect this spring.
- Kingpins Amsterdam will take place April 19-20 at the Westergasfabriek venue. For a second time, the show will spotlight fit and fabric trends with the help of Amy Leverton of Denim Dudes, who will host two trend seminar sessions. Invista will also present, “Around the Denim World in 80 Days,” the result of a year-long survey that examined the preferences and needs of denim consumers across five countries. Kingpins will bring the seminars to New York May 10-11 at Basketball City.
- Amsterdam Denim Days returns April 17-23 with indigo-themed events throughout the Dutch city. The event will culminate with the Blueprint Festival, a two-day business-to-consumer event featuring a selection of denim labels, special workshops, exclusive denim items, bands and DJs.
- Denim Premiere Vision aims to incite new beginnings. Under the theme, “Denim Revolution,” the April 26-27 event at the Paris Event Center, will look at creating “new denim myths” and focus on the industry’s creative scene. Described as a “festival gathering for business development,” the show will dedicate space to fashion and technological trends, a vintage market and a speaker series. Denim PV will also launch The Denim Hackathon, a two-day challenge for fashion schools, tech experts and professionals to create innovative denim.
