UBM Adds Dual Gender Show, Adjusts NY Show Dates

UBM Fashion, the organizers of Coterie, Sole Commerce, Project and more, is making two key changes in the New York trade show lineup to create new and more efficient business opportunities for both brands and retailers.

UBM announced that it is also unifying the men’s and women’s contemporary apparel, accessories and footwear categories, creating the first dual-gender fashion trade show in New York in July 2018. Project will be the marquee show for both men’s and women’s lines, set to take place July 22-24.

The company is also adjusting its women’s New York fashion trade show calendar to better align with New York Fashion and market weeks by introducing an additional June pre-collections show. Starting in June 2018, UBM Fashion’s new June market will provide a central location for brands to capitalize on this key market period. Brands will exhibit pre- collections at Coterie, Fame, Moda, AccessoriesTheShow and Pool Tradeshow June 10-12.

“As the global leader in fashion trade shows, UBM Fashion has been seeing firsthand the dramatic changes in the retail landscape. From the growth of e-commerce and fast fashion and changes in consumer buying patterns to the importance of delivering lifestyles and experiences—we at UBM Fashion realized there was an opportunity, in fact a duty, to make real changes for our industry,” said Mike Alic, UBM Fashion managing directory.

The Jacob Javits Center will continue to be UBM Fashion’s New York home base.

The January 2018 men’s and women’s market weeks will remain separate, women’s running Jan. 7-9 and men’s Jan. 21-23.
