Uniqlo Europe CEO Berndt Hauptkorn Leaves Company

A spokesperson for Uniqlo confirmed to Retail Week that Uniqlo CEO for Europe, Berndt Hauptkorn, left the company at the end of August. The spokesperson said Uniqlo Europe COO Takao Kuwahara has assumed Hauptkorn’s responsibilities.

Hauptkorn has reportedly joined Chanel as president of Europe, including the Middle East.

Prior to joining Uniqlo in June 2012, Hauptkorn was the global CEO for Bally for two years and played an instrumental part in the luxury brand’s turnaround. He was also the founding CEO of Labelux Group and was a principal at the Boston Consulting Group.
