United Denim Inc. will shut down next month.
The Los Angeles Business Journal reported that the Alameda, California-based facility will close down in December, resulting in layoffs for more than 160 employees. The company filed the closure with the state’s Employment Development Department in August.
The closure will affect 164 employees including machine operators, trimmers, pressers and office administrators.
The company did not explain in the notice why it was closing, and did not return The Los Angeles Business Journal’s calls for comment.
