Brazilian denim manufacturer Vicunha Textile paired with domestic and international laundries to develop expressive washes and finishes for the Autumn/Winter 2018-19 season.

The mill’s ‘Hot Wash & Artsy Surfaces’ collection highlights these innovations, including deconstructed and upgraded conventional washes and improved and adapted processes that tap into new technology.

The collection utilizes techniques such as nebulization, which the mill says is based on a “cloud effect principle” and results in a broad scope intensities and variations. Lasers, patches and colors vary, while irregular dyes with a high and low contrast still a dominate denim.

Vintage looks are achieved through 3-D effects and prominent stitch marks. Cord finishing, ribbing, sanding and freehand embroidery convey a DIY feel to the collection.
