The heritage denim brand teamed with music lifestyle brand Lyric Culture for the men’s and women’s collection now available on Wrangler.com.
The women’s collection includes 100 percent cotton dark wash slim fit jeans with a lasered Union Jack flag, slim fit jeans with lyrics scribbled on the leg, a “We are the champions” sweatshirt and and a “Killer Queen” cut-off tank.
For men, the collection offers light wash original fit jeans with “Bohemian Rhapsody” embroidered inside the waistband and dark wash jeans with lyrics scrawled on the leg and around the pocket.
Unisex sizing is available for Queen-themed graphic tees, a denim Western snap shirt with “Is this the real life?” embroidery and a “Don’t stop me now” pleated denim jacket.
The collection retails for $39-$159.
The collaboration highlights Wrangler’s place in rock history. Along with spandex, tights and tank tops, high-rise Wrangler jeans became part of Mercury’s famous onstage persona.
“For more than 70 years, Wrangler has been celebrating great music,” said Jenni Broyles, vice president and general manager of Wrangler Modern Lifestyle. “And this collection showcases how deeply rooted the brand is within the culture of rock stars and music legends like Freddie Mercury.”
Queen’s music has reentered the spotlight with the Mercury biopic “Bohemian Rhapsody” in theaters now.
This fall, Lucky Brand also introduced a capsule collection of vintage-inspired Queen concert tees for men and women. The denim brand launched a special section on its website dedicated to the movie with archival images, behind-the-scenes clips and an online auction for memorabilia from the film.
